Podcast Series
Epirus is a historical and geographical region in North Western Greece. A spectacular European secret of natural beauty, storied history and stoic people. Follow me as I venture through this land that has, for so long, been mostly hidden from the rest of the world.
This is my love letter to a region that has stolen my heart, a document of its people and their passions, their pride in the community, and their hopes for the future. But more than that, it is also a journey of self-discovery, as I get to know a place, I hope to one day call home.
This is Epirus Falls – the first English podcast series available for the region, distributed on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Samsung Podcasts.

Andi Ngjela, who was baptised as Nikos Gelia when he came to Greece, is very different today from the days of his childhood in Albania. He is considered one of the most talented actors of his generation, who starred in the film "Xenia" by Panos Koutras, one of the most important films of modern Greek cinema.
Nikos Gelia was born in Albania in the early 1990s in a turbulent period for the neighboring country. At a young age he migrated with his parents to Greece. How was it for a child to look for his "identity" in a country that was not particularly welcoming at that time for immigrants from Albania? The story of Nikos, the boy once called Andi, is identical to the stories of all those people who, due to their circumstances, were forced to grow up without a sense of "national identity.” The documentary questions whether our "identity" is something to be attributed to us or whether it is something we build for ourselves.
We followed Nikos on a trip back to Albania, where he faces his past and his roots and for a while becomes Andi again.

Not only has the Greek economic crisis made life much more difficult in Greece, but it's also made dealing with the death of a loved one nearly impossible, causing an entirely separate burden from dealing with the initial loss.
With a limited amount of space in traditional burial grounds, an aversion to cremation due to the region's dominant Christian Orthodox faith, not to mention the exorbitantly high cemetery fees, families are forced to look for more economic alternatives to burial, like donating bodies to scientific institutions.
In this episode of VICE INTL, VICE Greece investigates the country's lucrative death business, noting the high cost of death and the different ways the industry is developing.

Made In the A.M. is the fifth and final studio album by English-Irish boy band One Direction, released on 13 November 2015, by Columbia Records and Syco Music. This album is also the group's first album following the departure of Zayn Malik, who left the group on March 25, 2015 and the group's last album before going on an indefinite hiatus in 2016.
The album was released alongside a 90 minute film which featured interviews with each of the band members, a track by track commentary of the new music and unseen documentary footage.
The band teased listeners by releasing a song a day online and then held screenings of the film in cinemas worldwide on the day the album was released.

It is often forgotten that democracy in Ancient Athens was not an instrument for equality but rather one of exclusion. Voting and the associated privileges were reserved for a fraction of the ancient city’s inhabitants; no rights or assistance were provided to those Athenians who had fallen on hard times and were indebted to the state or to the hundreds of thousands of migrant workers and slaves that made up the bulk of the population. Today in the once impressive Omonoia or ‘Unity’ Square, we see that as the buildings and fabric of the city fall further into disrepair, this ancient theme of the state excluding the dispossessed remains as strong as ever.
Omonoia was historically a key meeting place within the city that had a magnetism that drew people to it, especially those new to Athens. As the area has fallen into disrepute and disrepair, Greeks now tend to gather two kilometres away in Syntagama and leave Omonoia for the drug addicts and prostitutes to roam at night. During the day, the lifeless rings of Zongolopous’ Pentaklikon sculpture tower over an ever-dwindling community of South Asian migrant workers. Indeed, the only ‘unity’ that now exists in this square is that of the camaraderie amongst these modern day ‘slaves’ who gather here often just to stare into space, waiting for something to happen or in the hope that an opportunity may come their way.
